Description
Thai Taste basil leaves are an essential ingredient in Thai cuisine. They have an unmistakable flavour and aroma that will take stir-fries and curries to the next level. Add them to Thai-style salads, soups and fried rice dishes for a peppery, aniseed flavour. These fragrant leaves are wonderful in curries, from rich, flavourful massaman to nutty, mellow panang.
Thai basil has a spicy, licorice-like flavour, while Italian basil is milder and sweeter. It is the main ingredient in pad krapow gai (Thai basil chicken) where chicken is stir-fried with chilli, garlic, oyster sauce and a handful of Thai basil leaves.
